To make your dollar store shopping even easier, we've compiled a list
of best dollar store buys. Never been? You're missing out. The dollar
store aisles are teeming with treasures just waiting to save you money.
Here's what you can get:
Party Supplies. Dollar stores are awash in party supplies like
balloons filled with helium, which go for $1 each compared with $3 to $8
elsewhere. Unfilled balloons come in packs of 25 for $1. You can also
load up on party decorations, gift bag fillers, and invitations (eight
for $1) at the dollar store. And for those all-important presents,
you'll find wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper (25 sheets for $1),
and tape (two rolls for $1).

Stationery/Office Supplies. While school supplies are best bought
in August during back-to-school sales, the dollar store is a good place
to stock up year-round. Check your local dollar store for pens, pencils,
markers, and crayons -- which come in packs of two to eight for $1 --
as well as paper and Post-it notes. For school projects, you can get
presentation boards or two pieces of poster board for $1. Money Crashers
points out that the dollar store is a good place to get mailing
supplies for cheap -- for instance, two bubble envelopes for $2. You can
also pick up two greeting cards for $1.
Kitchen Gear. Every time we visit the dollar store we're
surprised to find decent glass dishes and heavy-duty plasticware for a
dollar per piece. What's more, you can set your whole table with $1
items. At many dollar stores you're bound to find tablecloths,
placemats, table runners, cloth napkins, candle holders, serving pieces,
flatware, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and more in matching sets for $1
per item. You'll also find casserole dishes, baking tins, cookie sheets,
and the like for $1 to $4. Oh, yes, salt and pepper shakers and food
storage containers are available too, in sets of two to four for $1,
depending on size. Stock up on paper plates and plastic utensils; $1
buys 30 foam plates and 48 pieces of plasticware.

Home Goods. Cleaning products can get pricey, especially if you
buy name brands. Opt for off-brands from the dollar store instead. The
solutions might be a bit diluted but will still get the job done. You
may also luck out and find brand-name cleaning supplies at your local
dollar store. We've seen 16-ounce containers of Palmolive dish soap and
Lysol toilet bowl cleaner for $1. Also available: three quarts of Clorox
bleach for $2.25, 35 Clorox disinfectant wipes for $2, and 25 ounces of
Dawn dish soap for $2.
In addition to cleaning supplies, you can get organization and storage
containers at the dollar store. Look for things like shoe racks ($9 for
one that holds 18 pairs of shoes), hangers (six for $1), and storage
bins ($7.50 for a 35-quart bin). All cost less than they would at a big
box store.
Holiday Decor. The dollar store is a jackpot around holidays.
For example, at Christmas you'll likely find everything you need to
decorate a tree -- ornaments, lights, tinsel, and garland. At Easter
you'll find baskets galore for a dollar each, and plastic eggs to go in
them. We recently saw 18 for $1 at our local dollar store. For smaller
holidays, like Valentine's Day, you'll find plenty of cute candy
holders, wreaths, and other decorations for the home.
Related: Cheap Tablets
Electronic Accessories. We're not about to suggest you buy a
knock-off iPod at the dollar store (see below), but we will tell you to
look for cheap headphones to go with your real iPod. Moneyville
highlights several other such items worth buying at the dollar store.
Look for an iPod stand or case, portable device covers and skins, and
reading lights for $1 each, or a flashlight for around $4.
Don't Bother Items
One final note: Some things aren't worth even what little you'd pay
for them at the dollar store. Here are a few products you're likely
better off buying elsewhere.
Vitamins and medicine. The drug aisle of our local dollar store
houses everything from a Menopause Support Formula for $5.50 to a Super
Fat Burner for $2.50. Experts warn that you just don't know exactly
what's in such items. They also may be near or past their expiration
date. (This is a concern with food items as well.)
Small appliances and electronics. These tend to be cheaply made
and likely won't last. A wireless CD/MP3 adapter for a car stereo may
cost $10, but you could probably spend a little more elsewhere and get
one that is much more reliable.
Light bulbs. Experts advise that you'll end up spending more
money in the long run, because dollar store light bulbs lack the
lifespan of more expensive bulbs. While it's tempting to get the
off-brand four-pack of 60-watt light bulbs for $1.25, try to resist.

NTHE MIX LEARN SOMETHING SEGMENT: HOW TO BUY AND SELL CARS
- The No Limits Ladies have posted an article on how to flip cars — how to buy used cars for cheap and sell them again for a profit.
I find used vehicles for sale, often times through Cars.com, and I price them using KBB.com. When I find one that I know is in more demand, with a motivated seller at or below private party pricing, I go look at it and sometimes buy it. Then I drive it for a while for free, and sell it when I’m ready, for more than I bought it for. Then I roll that money into the next vehicle, or sometimes keep a bit for myself.
1.Screen used car ads for in-demand cars priced below market. - Make a cash offer for below the asking price.
- Make necessary repairs.
- Get the car cleaned and detailed.
- Have the title free and clear, ready to hand to the buyer.
- Show the vehicle in a safe location.
- Don’t negotiate — you don’t need to sell the vehicle, so wait for your price.
- Accept only cash.
WHY KENTUCKY WILL WIN IT ALL
Kentucky: The Wildcats should win the national title next Monday. They have a unique level of talent and chemistry.
They're second and 12th, respectively, in Ken Pomeroy's adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency ratings. Their roster of NBA prospects is anchored by Anthony Davis (six blocks against Baylor), the national player of the year in many circles.
Nothing new. But throughout the NCAA tournament, the Wildcats have showcased their dominance and continued to separate themselves from the rest of the field. The Wildcats have weathered every obstacle during the NCAA tournament, even Davis' early foul trouble against IU.
Iowa State's Royce White had a career game and it wasn't enough to help the Cyclones avoid a 16-point loss in the third round. Indiana scored 90 points and still suffered a 12-point loss against the Wildcats. Baylor took an early five-point lead and suddenly the Twittersphere buzzed with talk of a potential upset. And then, the Wildcats stopped abiding by the speed limit and outclassed the Bears the rest of the way.
You don't need a Las Vegas bookie to convince you that the Wildcats are the favorites in New Orleans. They've lost just two games this season. And although John Calipari's 2010 squad, led by John Wall, might have had more overall talent, it didn't create this gap between it and the other elite teams around the country. That team didn't even make the Final Four.
Everything a coach would ever want on a team, Calipari has. To win title No. 1, the former UMass, Memphis and NBA head coach just needs his players to continue on this path. When the Wildcats execute, they're better than every team in the country.
And that's why they should win the national title. Sometimes, it's not as simple as talent. Weird things can happen, especially this time of year. But the Big Blue have the advantage over every other squad in New Orleans.
Whatever its opponents do, Kentucky finds a way to top it. Few reasons to believe that trend won't continue in the last stage of the 2011-12 college basketball season.

PRESIDENT OBAMA REACTS TO TRAYVON MARTIN INCIDENT (VIDEO)
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- For the first time since the controversy erupted on the national scene, President Barack Obama
weighed in on the killing of Trayvon Martin, calling it a tragedy,
urging cooperation among law enforcement and declaring that "some soul
searching" was needed throughout the country.
"If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon," Obama said, underscoring how the issue affected him on a personal, and not just a political or legal, level. "I think [Trayvon's parents] are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves, and we are going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened."
The statement by Obama came after he introduced Dartmouth President Jim Kim to be the next head of the World Bank during an appearance in the Rose Garden. He took only one question before heading back into the West Wing -- signaling that both he and his press handlers were feeling pressure, coming from black activists and others, to make a public comment on the Martin case.

MORE EARTHQUAKES! NOW IN AUSTRALIA
People living near the epicentre of Australia's biggest earthquake in 15 years have reported being shaken, but otherwise escaping unscathed.
The 6.1 earthquake struck near Ernabella, in South Australia's far north, just before 8.30pm local time (9pm AEDT) yesterday.
Ernabella, an indigenous arts hub, is home to about 500 Aboriginal people, with more living in about six communities in the surrounding region.
The remote area is just south of the border with the Northern Territory, about 317 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs, 230 kilometres south-east of Uluru and 415 kilometres north-west of Coober Pedy.
Geoscience Australia seismologist David Jepsen said people in the communities around the earthquake epicentre had reported strong shaking.
"An event like this, there are a number of Aboriginal communities around there and they have experienced strong shaking," Dr Jepsen said.
"We've heard from them, people have felt strong shaking, but we haven't heard of any damage yet, but there is that possibility."
There have been several aftershocks since the earthquake.
Yesterday's earthquake followed two quakes in the area in the past week. The first, on March 16, measured 4.3 magnitude and the second on March 20 was 3.8 magnitude.
Yesterday's quake is Australia's biggest since a quake measuring 6.3 was recorded off Collier Bay on Western Australia's far north coast in 1997.
"This (Ernabella) earthquake would have been felt in Yulara (near Uluru), only weakly in Alice Springs and maybe as far as Coober Pedy," Dr Jepsen said.
South Australia Police said no injuries or damage had been reported.
Dr Jepsen said the region's earthquakes were caused by the release of stress from the earth's crust, built up as the Indian-Australian tectonic plate moves, squeezing South Australia sideways by about 0.1 millimetre each year.
He said on average there were about 200 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or more in Australia each year and one earthquake above magnitude 5.5 about every two years.
The 1989 earthquake in Newcastle, New South Wales that killed 13 people was a 5.6 magnitude event and the 2011 Christchurch earthquake that killed 185 people in New Zealand was 6.3 magnitude.
Australia's largest recorded earthquake was in 1941 in Meeberrie, in central-west Western Australia, with a magnitude of 7.3, but there were no fatalities
